props and planning list for music magazine

Kit, props, costume & location list.

Technical gear.
The only technical gear I will need is a camera and a tripod. I want the pictures to be taken outside and not studio based therefore don’t require and lighting accept natural lighting. I will make sure all of the pictures I chose are the best quality pictures I have taken, this is because the images play a vital role in the magazines impressions.

Props.
The only props I will need for the pictures are cigarettes or an electric cigarette so smoke can be produced, to slightly hide the face of the artist. I will only require such minimal props because the images are going to be natural and therefore don’t require any extra props to convey any messages.

Costume
The outfit that the model wares will be of an indie/rock inspired look. I am thinking along the lines of black skinny jeans, a shirt with the top button up, and a denim jacket. The outfit will play a crucial part in all images because they are a representation of the artist and therefore suggest what his personality is like. It can also let the audience know what the genre of the magazine is.

Location
For the main cover image I will have the model stood in front of either a brick wall or with nothing behind him and just use the clouds in the background. The location of this image won’t matter dramatically as it is a close up of the artists face. For the main contents image I will have the artist walking away from the camera and preferable alongside train tracks, or down a narrow ally way. The double page spread image will be of the artist featuring on the front cover. It will be at the top of a hill, either sitting down using a wide, over the shoulder shot so the face of the artist is more recognisable, or a long shot of them on the edge of the hill peak.
